Smart LED light strips have become a cornerstone in architectural design, home decoration, and beyond. With the continuous advancements in smart home systems and IoT technology, these strips have greatly evolved, offering enhanced features such as extended lighting, precise dimming, consistent color temperature, remote and voice control, and long-lasting, eco-friendly performance. At the heart of these innovations lies the 32-bit MCU, serving as the primary control unit.
APM32E103xE LED Controller Solution
To streamline development and maximize functionality, Geehy presents a 4-port LED controller solution tailored specifically for smart LED strips. Powered by Geehy's industrial-grade APM32E103xE MCUs, this solution manages up to 1,536 LEDs per port, supporting the 2D simulation of lighting effects via computer software. It also enables online control through USB or the option to download data to a storage capacity of up to 4GB. Additional features include audio output and long-distance signal transmission capabilities of up to 1km.
APM32E103-Based LED Controller Solution
The APM32E103xE MCU, functioning as the core control chip, manages USB communication and potentiometer-based brightness adjustments, enabling two modes of human-computer interaction. It interfaces with EMMC storage via SDIO, processes data through DAC, and transmits the DIN or CLK signals required by the LED driver chip using UART or SPI. Long-distance transmission and high reliability are achieved through RS-485 chips and TVS diode protection.
Features of the APM32E103xE LED Controller Solution
• Powered by an ARM® Cortex®-M3 core operating at 120MHz.
• Supports full-speed USB 2.0 interfaces for real-time computer access and software-controlled LED effects.
• Simplifies peripheral circuitry, requiring only external level conversion chips.
• Accurately reads the dimming potentiometer for precise brightness control.
• Provides robust HBM and CDM protection and high anti-interference capability, passing CS 10V 150KHz~230MHz dynamic conduction interference tests and achieving 4KV EFT capability.
• Integrates a temperature sensor to monitor ambient temperature throughout the operating range.
Key Features of the Industrial-Grade APM32F103xE MCU
The APM32E103xE 4-port LED controller solution also supports backup power regulation, ensuring that the system can save and restore its state upon power-up. This feature, powered by a button battery, maintains the power supply to the RTC and backup registers, enhancing system efficiency and flexibility. For applications lacking backup power, Flash memory can emulate EEPROM, enabling the rapid saving of critical parameters during power interruptions.
